Jipijapa is a specific type of palm plant that grows throughout the Yucatan Peninsula. 
First the leaves are cut from the palm and then the leaves are separated into delicate strips using a fine needle instrument. In the next step the leaves are cooked and dried. Afterwards the weaving process starts. 
All fans are handmade and therefore unique.
